## About the Treatment

Sexually transmitted infections (STIs) — such as chlamydia, gonorrhea, syphilis, HIV, hepatitis B and C, trichomoniasis and herpes — often cause no symptoms but can lead to complications when left untreated, such as pelvic pain and infertility. STI testing includes the collection of vaginal and cervical secretions during the consultation and, depending on the case, blood or urine tests. The choice of tests is made by the gynecologist according to each patient's symptoms, history and stage of life, with complete confidentiality and a welcoming approach. Early diagnosis allows for appropriate treatment and also protects partners.
