## About the Treatment

Hysterectomy is the surgical removal of the uterus, indicated in situations such as large fibroids or fibroids causing heavy bleeding, adenomyosis, abnormal uterine bleeding that does not respond to clinical treatment, uterine prolapse, and certain pre-malignant or malignant lesions. Whenever possible, it is performed using minimally invasive techniques, such as laparoscopy or the vaginal route, which provide less pain and faster recovery. Depending on the case, the ovaries may be preserved. The surgery is performed in a hospital setting, under anesthesia, and the indication, technique and recovery care are determined during a consultation, after a complete evaluation.
