About the Treatment

Anal condylomas are warts caused by HPV that appear on the skin around the anus and, often, also inside the anal canal. Removal is indicated to eliminate visible lesions, reduce transmission and allow tissue analysis when there is diagnostic uncertainty. Techniques include laser, electrocautery and surgical excision, chosen according to the number, size and location of the lesions; small lesions can be treated with local anesthesia in the office, while extensive cases require a surgical setting. At Femi Saúde, the coloproctology team always evaluates the anal canal with anoscopy before treatment, provides guidance on vaccination and prevention, and maintains follow-up, since recurrences are possible and early detection makes a difference.
