Dermoscopy
An exam that magnifies and analyzes moles and lesions
About the Treatment
Dermoscopy is a non-invasive exam that uses a device with magnifying lenses and special lighting to observe skin structures invisible to the naked eye. It allows moles, spots and other lesions to be assessed in much greater detail, helping to distinguish benign changes from those that warrant further investigation. It is recommended for people with many moles, a family history of skin cancer, fair skin, intense sun exposure, or who have noticed a new or changing lesion. At Femi Saúde, Dr. Ana Kappes performs dermoscopy during the dermatology consultation, clearly explaining each finding and deciding together with the patient whether follow-up, a biopsy, or simply periodic observation is needed.
