About the Treatment
PDO (polydioxanone) threads are absorbable threads, made of the same material used in surgical sutures, inserted under the skin with fine needles or cannulas. There are smooth threads, which stimulate collagen production and improve skin firmness and texture, and barbed threads, which provide immediate tissue lifting, repositioning the cheeks, jawline and neck area. They are indicated for mild to moderate sagging in people seeking a lifting effect without surgery. The procedure is performed in the office, under local anesthesia, in about 40 to 60 minutes, with a quick return to activities and the possibility of small bruises for a few days. The threads are absorbed in about six months, and the collagen stimulation keeps the result for 12 to 18 months.
