Consulta + procedimento hospitalar

About the Treatment

Laparoscopy is a minimally invasive surgical technique in which a microcamera and thin instruments are introduced through small incisions in the abdomen, allowing the pelvic organs to be seen in detail on a monitor. In gynecology, it can be used for diagnosis — investigating chronic pelvic pain, suspected endometriosis or difficulty becoming pregnant — and for treatment, such as removing ovarian cysts, fibroids, endometriosis implants and adhesions, as well as tubal ligation and hysterectomy. Compared with open surgery, it generally provides less pain, smaller scars, a shorter hospital stay and a faster return to activities. The surgery is performed in a hospital setting, under general anesthesia, and the indication is determined after an evaluation.
