About the Treatment
Vulvoscopy is the examination of the vulva with the aid of the colposcope, which provides magnification and lighting for a thorough evaluation of the skin and mucosa of the area. It is indicated to investigate persistent itching, burning, sores, warts, spots or changes in color and texture, as well as to monitor HPV-related lesions and conditions such as lichen sclerosus. It is often performed together with colposcopy. When necessary, a biopsy can be taken at the same time for laboratory analysis. The exam is performed in the office, is quick and well tolerated.
