About the Treatment
Chemical peel applies acids at controlled concentrations to the skin to promote renewal of the superficial layers, stimulate collagen and even out skin tone. There are superficial, medium and deep peels: superficial peels, with acids such as glycolic, salicylic and mandelic, are indicated for spots, melasma, acne and oily skin, enlarged pores and fine lines, with light peeling and a quick return to activities; medium peels, such as TCA, act on more resistant spots and scars, with a few days of recovery. The type of acid, the concentration and the number of sessions are defined after an assessment of the skin and the goal, and the use of sunscreen before and after is essential. It is usually done in series of three to six sessions, with intervals of two to four weeks.
